Not a problem tipping them for a job well done. No one tips me when I design a good webpage because it's expected that I design a good webpage to begin with.

I am a Bell Atlantic now Verizon retiree who worked as a installer for a time during my career.
I repeatedly offered the nice gentleman that installed my FIOS the following: 1 use of the bathroom, 2 water and 3 various soft drinks I had on hand. It was unusually warm that day and the large installation took most of the afternoon he did the install the way I wanted it and did neat work besides. From my past, I knew better than to offer money as he would not accept it.

I didn't even see they guy because I was at work while he was here, but I did get his name and his supervisors name and sent a very complimentary letter to them about him taking his time to diagnose and properly fix a problem that they had caused and then taken 4 days to getting around to fix.
I figured that would do him some good since I wasn't even around to offer him a drink of water or a soda. My install was scheduled from 8am - 5pm and of course he showed up at Still he seemed to do a good job, and was gone at pm. He did program the remotes, although not all features work, so I'm trying new codes. So far, I see pluses and minuses for both, so I'm undecided which one I'll keep. Good thing FIOS gives me two weeks! Sometimes twenty will save you a hundred LOL.
